We’ve been doing a lot of re-decorating around here. First, I had my blog re-designed. I hope you all are enjoying the clean look. The easy access to my social icons (are you all following me on twitter, facebook, etc??). You may also have noticed some of my recipes now have a print option. I’m very excited about this. I started using Recipage and am currently trying to upload all my recipes into the program. Once I’m done, my Recipe Page (linked above) will have a WHOLE new look. I’ll let you all know when that big reveal day is…I’m hopeful by the end of February!!
There’s been some other re-decorating in my life though. You see, it started when my younger girls wanted this table (used for crafts) brought up from the basement (where we have our craft room) and put in their room. I thought this was a great idea. We don’t spend a lot of time in said craft room…no reason, just out of the way.
So, inspired by this idea of moving the kids craft table upstairs, I thought it would be fun to move all my craft supplies and desk upstairs too. This lead to having to re-paint our office. Which lead to having to re-paint the craft room in basement (which is now guest bedroom/ workout room). <----wonder how much time I'll spend in the work out room???
Anyways, I spent most of Saturday painting, organizing, and so forth. And in my opinion, it called for a reward.
These hazelnut brownies, warm out of the oven were just perfect. But, I was thinking REWARD!!
So I whipped up a nutella sauce and poured it over some vanilla ice cream. Now we’re talking reward.

Hazelnut Blondies with Nutella Sauce

by Shugary Sweets
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients (serves 16)
For the Blondies:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, peeled and chopped
For the Nutella Sauce:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup nutella
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
In mixing bowl, beat butter with brown sugar for about 2-3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Beat in vanilla. Slowly add flour, baking powder and salt and mix just until combined. Fold in hazelnuts. Mixture will be very THICK.
Press batter into a parchment paper lined 13×9 baking dish (use hands to press it evenly). Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes. Remove and cool slightly (about 20 minutes).
Meanwhile, make nutella sauce. Beat butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, nutella and cream until blended. Pour (frosting like consistency) into a microwave safe bowl. When ready to serve, heat in microwave for one minutes.
Assemble by cutting blondies into large squares. Top with ice cream (optional) and drizzle with warm nutella sauce. Enjoy!

Wow, I love Nutella, so I am sure I will love those! I can’t wait to give them a try sometime in the near future.
I had a hunch you’d made some changes around here — I was just admiring them when I visited last week, but was too bashful to say so because I always fear that I’ve been a space cadet and have neglected to notice a change that’s been around for a long time. Silly me!
Anyway, your blog looks great and your blondies look divine!
Oh my goodness. These look delightfully sinful. Thanks for sharing!
