Coffee Time

Yeah! It’s Friday! This was a long week here at the Shugary house, but we are looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend with the grandparents! Grab your coffee and let’s chat!

I’ve got some delicious recipes coming to the blog soon, but was wondering what kind of food do YOU want to see me make? Or are you happy with what I share? No guarantee I would make your suggestions anyways! HA!

Oh, and if you didn’t get a chance yet this week, hurry up and enter to win some super cute workout clothes or bathing suits from Albion Fit. I’ve got a fun giveaway going on now, plus a coupon code! Check it out HERE.

Now, what you really came here for…some photos!

Most Drool Worthy Photo: I’m sure today’s photo doesn’t surprise those of you who know me well. I’m obsessed with Rice Krispie treats. It’s the one treat I won’t allow my husband to take to work, because I hate sharing them. It’s quite ridiculous. There are days I have made just a plain batch of RKT for lunch. Sickening right?? This Krispie Treat Milkshake from Cookies & Cups is so amazing! IT’S A MILKSHAKE. A KRISPIE TREAT MILKSHAKE. Sorry to yell like that, but seriously, do you even understand how crazy good that sounds to me???

I’m Lovin It: I have an ice cream maker. It’s cool. It works. It’s Cuisanart. While surfing Pinterest I saw this gorgeous pink Soft Serve Ice Cream maker. Does anyone have this?? Does it work? Does the ice cream taste delicious? I love soft serve ice cream…I think I need this in my life! Look at the sprinkles holder!

Dinner Inspiration: Want to know what’s going on my menu this week? These Smoky Tex-Mex Sloppy Joses from Taste and Tell are calling my name! Food on buns are the best kind of dinner! Plus, she put Fritos on her sandwich! Yes, please! I also have some Lemon Basil Pasta on our menu! Oh my.

What’s New: Usually on Instagram I see people posting fun treats that they find in the grocery stores. Treats that my grocery store never seems to carry. Yesterday I got to post something delicious I found! Something NEW!

Have you seen the Ice Cream Oreos yet? The filling tastes like sherbet! I find them absolutely amazing and have stashed them in the back of the cabinet and have ZERO plans on sharing. Now I need to work on recreating these bad boys because as a limited edition I know they will be gone soon! {be sure to follow me on Instagram for other fun quirks about my life} What’s YOUR favorite Oreo flavor? Are you an original kinda person?

Very Pinteresting: Memorial Day is right around the corner which means I’ll be pulling out some delicious Red/White/Blue desserts and Drinks. These Layered Drinks from In Katrina’s Kitchen are awesome!! So cute and festive! Be sure to follow my Red, White and Blue Board on Pinterest for more great summer ideas!

Blogging Tips: I’ve been working real hard to improve my photography around here. Thanks to Pinch of Yum and their Tasty Food Photography Book I’m learning so many new tips and tricks!

This book is worth it’s weight in gold if you ask me! I know many people have emailed me over the past several months wondering how I’ve grown my blog, or how to improve their own photography.  Learning HOW to use my camera was the first step (and taking it off auto). This book was the second step! As I started taking time setting up my photos: people pinned, tweeted and shared my photos more often! Thanks for all of your support out there! I’m still a work in progress! {click the photo to order your own copy of the book}

Most Popular Post on Shugary Sweets this week: I’m not sure who to credit for sharing this recipe this week, but my Triple Chocolate Caramel Bread was a big hit on Facebook! I love when an older recipe gets a little love. Especially one as delicious as this bread! Hmmm, reminds me I need to make it again soon! Maybe with peanut butter instead of butterscotch?

That’s a crazy flavor of oreo. Sometimes they surprise me. There’s a sherbert flavor, but no dark chocolate? (that i’ve seen at least)

Oooh, dark chocolate would be amazing! good idea.

I actually have that ice cream maker, but sadly not in pink. It’s fun, and it does work, but honestly? We’ve only pulled it out 2 or 3 times in the last 3 years. Thanks for featuring my sloppy joses – now I’m craving them again!

You’re too sweet Marcie! That’s only because we seem to always have the same food on our brain :)

You had my attention at “coffee.” 😉
That ice cream maker is too cute. I can see why your bread was a huge hit on facebook because it looks amazing! I love the idea of using peanut butter chips!! Maybe even cinnamon chips too.

Oooh Cinnamon chips sound good. Although I can NEVER find them!

MORE FABULOUS FUDGE PLEASE! ahem. Just thought I’d share my thoughts as obnoxiously as possible about what you should make for the blog. 😉

Also I need that soft-serve ice cream machine in my life asap. Oh man maybe as a graduation present! :O

And now I’ve found my 6 (nearly 7!) year olds next birthday gift – the soft serve ice cream maker *with* sprinkles holder (very important!!) Looks fantastic!

Thanks Shea! What a fun gift for a kid. Here I was thinking I wanted one. But I can give it to my kids as a gift instead (then I know we will own it, LOL)!!

Well, crap, there went the diet…again. I shouldn’t even come here but I can’t stay away. LOVE all the recipes you share and LOVE making them myself too. I love that ice cream maker and fear if I had one at my house, I’d be in trouble! lol.

As for what recipes I would like to see more of…biscotti is always a hit with me!

That ice cream maker is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!! I need that! It would probably put a halt on spending $20 a week at the fro-yo store. :)

    • posted May 22, 2013 at 4:47 pm

I know!!! Although, I would totally spend $20 on sprinkles!

  20. posted May 22, 2013 at 8:50 am

That ice cream maker is adorable but I would have no where to keep it! Also, that bread looks incredible! So rich and decadent.
