Why This Recipe is Best

Mojitos are so bright and refreshing and this strawberry version is no exception! It’s just perfect for sipping!

In a traditional mojito, mint leaves and lime juice are muddled with sugar before being mixed with white rum and club soda over ice.

We’re doing the same thing here, but we’re adding fresh strawberries to the muddling mixture to break them down and release the flavors.

Strawberry and lime go so well together, and those flavors just sing in this drink. You’ll be so happy with this fun, fruity twist!

  • Fresh strawberry flavor in every sip
  • Bright citrus notes from the limes and a cool, minty finish
  • Such a beautiful drink, too, to share with friends!

Ingredient Notes

  • Mint – You’ll need 20 leaves for muddling. You may want extra for garnishes, too.
  • Lime Juice – You’ll need about 1/3 cup of fresh lime juice. Four good sized limes should be plenty. Do not substitute bottled lime juice.
  • Strawberries – Use fresh, sweet strawberries for the best flavor. Frozen strawberries, completely thawed and drained, would work as well.
  • Rum – Bacardi is my go-to for white rum, but another brand will do.

Easy Instructions

Step 1. Muddle. Add the mint leaves, berries, lime juice and sugar to a pitcher and muddle together until well mashed and combined.

Step 2. Mix. Add the rum to the pitcher and stir to combine.

Step 3. Serve. Pour the mojito over crushed ice in your glasses, about 3/4 full, and then top with club soda. Garnish, if desired, and enjoy!

Tips and Tricks

  • Roll the limes before you cut and juice them to help release the juices so you get the most out of each one.
  • Use a muddler set (like this one) to help get all the muddling ingredients well smashed and their flavors combined.
  • No muddler? You can use the stem of a wooden spoon or lightly pulse the mixture in a blender or food processor. Just don’t completely puree it.
  • Add some fun garnishes to make the drinks extra special! Lime slices, fresh mint and strawberries are a pretty combination.

Recipe FAQs

Can I make Strawberry Mojitos in advance?

Yes, you can muddle the berries, lime, mint and sugar and add the rum to the pitcher in advance. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Then pour the mojitos over ice and add the club soda.

Can I make virgin strawberry mojitos?

Sure. Just omit the rum and use more club soda to make a full drink. Or use part lemon-lime soda and part club soda if you prefer.

How many servings does this make?

The recipe makes 4 drinks, depending on how large your pours are. You can double or triple the recipe if needed, as long as your pitcher is large enough.
