As a mom of four kids, working from home, the hours before dinner seem to go fast.

By the time the kids get home from school, to the time we eat, it just flies by. And sometimes it’s filled with chaos of homework, sports, etc.

One thing that has always been important for me and my husband, is family dinner. While sometimes it’s not possible for ALL of us to sit down at the same time, having a family dinner hour is essential in our house. It’s where we discuss what happened during the day, and plans for the upcoming day/weeks/month.

However, being a food blogger doesn’t mean I have all the time in the world to cook. And sometimes I need shortcuts and time-saving hacks.

Enter: On-Cor.

On-Cor Chicken Parmigiana

I have a confession. At any point in time you can open my freezer and you’ll find a few of our favorite On-Cor entrées, including the On-Cor Gravy & Sliced White Meat Turkey, and the Breaded Chicken Parmagiana Patties with Tomato Sauce. All of their entrées have no MSG added!

Today I made a delicious semi-homemade meal using the On-Cor Chicken Parmagiana Patties! Often times we just reach for some rolls and serve it up, but every once in awhile I love whipping up this Cheesy Garlic Bread instead.

How to make Chicken Parmesan on Cheesy Garlic Bread

Start by cooking your On-Cor Chicken Parmagiana Patties with Tomato Sauce in the oven, according to the package directions.

While your dinner is cooking, you have plenty of time to prep the Cheesy Garlic Bread. You’ll actually serve the chicken ON the garlic bread, it’s so good and better than on a roll.

To make the Cheesy Garlic Bread, combine 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (softened) with fresh minced garlic, salt and pepper. Mix it together. Using a loaf of Italian Bread (I bought ours in the bakery section of the grocery store), slice the bread in half, lengthwise (from end to end).

Place two sheets of foil on a large baking sheet, letting it run off the edges a bit (you’ll want enough to wrap the bread). Place the bread, cut side up, onto the foil lined baking sheet.

Spread your butter mixture evenly over the cut side of the bread, all the way to the edges. Wrap the foil loosely over the bread and crimp the edges together. Set aside while your entrée is baking.

Once your Chicken Parmigiana Patties are done cooking, remove from the oven and place your baking sheet of wrapped garlic bread INTO the oven for 10 minutes. Your oven should already be at 375 degrees F.

After 10 minutes, remove the bread, open the foil carefully (use hot pads). Sprinkle the bread with parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Top it with your cooked Chicken Parmigiana patties. You can spoon your extra sauce on the bread, or serve on the side.

Return the bread to the oven and bake an additional 6-8 minutes, until cheese is melted. Serve with a sprinkle of parsley and enjoy!

What to serve with Chicken Parmagiana and Garlic Bread

We love having a big green salad with our dinner. You can make this Spinach and Bacon Salad or this Mandarin Salad while your entrée is cooking.

If you prefer, you can just steam some fresh vegetables instead!

Homemade Applesauce is also a great side dish to tonight’s meal!

For YOUR next family meal, head to the freezer aisle of Meijer or check out the store locator on their website to pick up one of On-Cor’s entrées at a store near you! Find more dinner inspiration by following On-Cor on facebook!

Life is busy and demanding, so serving dinner shouldn’t be. On-Cor does most of the prep work so you can take care of helping with homework, haha. The Cheesy Garlic Bread only takes minutes to prep, leaving you plenty of time to change the laundry or put up your feet and relax.

Weeknight dinners call for this Chicken Parmesan on Cheesy Garlic Bread. Semi-homemade and fully delicious!

  • 1 box frozen On-Cor Breaded Chicken Parmagiana with Tomato Sauce
  • 1 loaf Italian Bread (about 14 oz size)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley chopped

  1. Cook On-Cor according to package directions. Will bake in a 375 degree F oven for about 55-60 minutes.
  2. While entrée is cooking, prep the cheesy garlic bread. Slice the bread (end to end) in half. Cut two large sheets of foil to overlap a large baking sheet (it will be used to wrap around the bread). Place bread, cut side up on the foil lined baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the butter, garlic, salt, and pepper together. Spread evenly over the cut side of bread, all the way to the edges.
  4. Wrap foil over bread loosely, pinching the edges together.
  5. Remove entree from oven when it's finished, and slide bread into oven for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove bread from oven after ten minutes, and carefully open the foil. Sprinkle tops of bread with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Top with chicken parmigiana patties. Spoon extra sauce on top or save to serve on the side.
  7. Return bread to oven (not covered) and bake an additional 6-8 minutes until cheese is melted. Slice and enjoy immediately.
