Yield: 12 cups

Holiday Puppy Chow

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 3 minutes
Total Time 13 minutes

  • 12 cup rice squares cereal
  • 16 oz white chocolate, melted (I use Ghirardelli melting wafers)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • Red and Green gel food coloring

  1. In two large bowls, add 6 cups of the cereal. Set aside.
  2. In a glass, microwave safe bowl, melt vanilla wafers (or almond bark) according to package directions.
  3. Pour half into a separate bowl. Add red gel food coloring to one and green gel food coloring to the other. Pour one color over each bowl of cereal, mixing until combined.
  4. In a large plastic resealable bag, add powdered sugar. Add contents of bowl to bag. Seal and shake until powdered sugar covers all the cereal.
  5. Store puppy chow in airtight container for up to 5 days. ENJOY!

Comments & Reviews

  1. I found it works with just the frosting. I used 1/2 cup of frosting and roughly 8 cups of cereal. It wasn’t too sweet.

  2. Made these for my sons class for his christmas party, was really yummy right after i made it. He brought extras home after school and they were chewy and yucky and not good. Wont be making this again
