This looks so wonderful! I love that you are serving it with pretzels!
A spoon works as a way to eat this dip too!! You know, if you want to cut calories and all 🙂
I could not get here fast enough when I saw this picture on FB – drooling like crazy right now!
Sorry for the drool on your keyboard! Thanks for stopping over Erin!
Yes, I think this will work. Cookie dough- check. PB cups- check. Now all I need is someone to contain me after I eat all of that sugar!
haha, maybe go for a nice long walk afterwards!! Worth every gram.
Yeah…..this is awesome!
Thanks Kelly! I hope you try it!
Hell. YES!
My feelings exactly!
Decadent! Do I have to use pretzels or could I just use a spoon?
I was wondering if I can eat it with a spoon. ?
Absolutely 🙂
Dying.
I hope not! Didn’t mean to kill you with this recipe! I guess it gives a new meaning to “killer recipe.” I crack myself up sometimes!
Oh wow, this is perfect. I mean butter, cream cheese, PB, chocolate. Nice and light 🙂
This is my fave holiday of the year I think – love this dip for it!
Averie I had a feeling you would like this one! So do you like football? Or the food??

I AM IN LOVE. That is all. Wow. 🙂
I knew you’d love this one Sally, it has chocolate and peanut butter 🙂
Football is an excuse to go to the mall and do some serious shopping $$ while everyone else is at home or in front of a tv set. Me and thousands of other wives though have that same idea 🙂
Haha. I could never go shopping and walk away from all the delicious food!!!!
That dip looks like some serious stuff! 🙂
I’m excited to finally find a good format for recipes to use on my blog thanks to you having the name of your plugin posted. Thank-you!!!
Deborah, I love ziplist! I hope you like it as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by!
I think I would eat it as a pudding! 😀 Fantastic thing!
Yes, with a spoon is best!
Oh Aimee! You know Reese’s are my very, very favorite candy!! Just hand me my spoon…
Yes a spoon would work as a perfect means to get this from bowl to mouth!!
Forget the pretzels and the spoon…I want to dive headfirst into that awesome looking dip!! This is definitely my kind of food!!! Give me Reese’s every day and I would be a fat happy woman!!!
Football? What football? I’m only there for the food!!!
Headfirst. You’re so classy!! haha!! I know you love Reese’s, you’d use that spoon to pick them all out and eat them!
Seriously? That’s all my faves in one spot! Bring.it. Totally pinning this!
Thanks Jill!!! ENJOY.
Shut up, you did not add Reeses? You have no idea how bad I want this right now.
Yep. I totally did add Reese’s. it was a genius move, haha!!
Amazing! I love all the peanut butter happening here 🙂
Yes, too much peanut butter? Nah…..
I normally do not like peanut butter but would be willing to try this. It looks amazing!
Don’t like peanut butter? Eeeks. I do have a chocolate chip variety on my blog!!
This looks epically delicious! And excellent call on serving in a ramekin.
I’m a huge peanut butter/reese’s fan. I also am a huge convert to cookie dough dip and how wonderful it is, especially for parties.
I hosted a cookie exchange recently and it was the perfect counterpoint to all the “Baked” cookies. I also made an easy tweak to a basic recipe and created a “Salted Caramel Cocoa Cookie Dough Dip” – here’s a link if you find it intriguing:
http://somethinganniemade.com/?p=662
Take care!
Off to check it out, sounds amazing Annie!!
WOW. Oh, Aimee. SOOOOO good!!!!
Thanks Dorothy! Would be a nice addition at a party with your Apple bites!
Um, is this real life?
I’m pinching you. Do you feel that? Yep, real life!
Oh my goodness, this sounds amazing!! I’m nine months pregnant and cannot WAIT until I can eat cookie dough again! (Although I love that this doesn’t have eggs, so I still could!)
You sure can eat this!!!
Honestly, how did you stop yourself from just eating it with a spoon, pretzels and graham crackers be damned!? This looks incredible!
Let’s just say I had company at my house, so I tried to restrain myself. Until they left, then I finished it off!
Oh yum! I don’t even think I need pretzels to eat this dip 😉 How abut fingers or a spoon? Oh, not lady-like…oops…
I absolutely love peanut butter and chocolate and reese’s and this is just perfect! 🙂
Thanks jessica!
If you could just make me some of everything, I’ll be right over 🙂
Well? Where are you? Everything is ready…guess I’ll be eating it myself!
I missed it?! I’m soooo sad!
Seriously what could be better than cookie dough dip? Especially with peanut butter in it!!!
Can’t answer that. Maybe pizza? Nah…..
OMG THIS DIP! and that corn dip! SO MUCH DELICIOUS DIP. Maybe the Superbowl will just be “Delicious Dip Day” at my apartment. Though I’ll try and come up with a less weird sounding name 😉
I would love to be invited to delicious dip day! hehe
I will be dreaming of this amazing dip tonight! It looks incredible!
Sweet dreams Jennifer 🙂
Woah this sounds to die for! I’m hosting a Superbowl Party and am book marking this for our menu! I also adore those football oatmeal pies so adorable!

A spoon fight? I love it!
Love the combination of the salty and the sweet. Plus peanut butter cups are my all time favorite candy. How can you go wrong with this dip!
Yummy a perfect super bowl snack!
The Reeses dip looks ridiculous….ly amazing!!! I’ve never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing all of this yumminess for the parties coming up this weekend! 🙂

Thanks Bonnie!!! It is quite delish 🙂
Whoa, lady! What are you trying to do here??? In all seriousness…that $hit looks awesome and I’m gonna have to try it!! My hubby happened to be over my shoulder as I was reading the recipe…out loud. Needless to say, my feet are to the fire now! Thanks for sharing!
Update: I made this for my MIL’s birthday party and it was a H.I.T!! It’s just so dang good and creamy and rich. Perfect with Snyder butter pretzels that look like waffle chips. OMG. I had to pull up your recipe to share with others….
I ‘m so glad you enjoyed this recipe!!! we love it too, and have made it several times.
Because your name is also Aimee, I love your site already. But I am drooling over this dip. I adore reeses peanut butter cups more than a lot of things, but I have never thought of adding them to cookie dough, and cookie dough dip, is genius. Can’t wait to try this!
I love your name right back 🙂
I am not sure what to say…other than dangerous!
Thanks Holly. There really are no other words….
OH MY GOSH! I just gained 20 pounds looking at those pictures. Please come to my super bowl party 🙂 I saw you linked up at The 36th Ave. Also, I am your newest likes on facebook, following via my blog’s page and my personal page and I would be giddy if you’d like me back!
Beth @ The First Year Blog
hi! this recipie looks great. i was wondering- would you have to put the cream cheese in there? i want to make this but i skipped over the cream cheese when i read the list and didnt get any and i need to make it by tomorrow. thanks in advance.
Yeah, the cream cheese definitely needs to be in there, it gives it such depth of flavor. Sorry 🙁
Hi! Where is the recipe? I don’t see it. What do I need to buy? Thanks!
The dip was so quick and easy to make & so delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
You are welcome Dee, so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping back and letting me know!
Saw this on Iowa Girl Eats, YUM!!! This would be dangerous to have in the house! Chocolate and peanut butter Seeses dip with salty pretzels, yea I would have NO self control.
She was so sweet to share my dip recipe! glad you popped over to say hello! Agreed on the self-control, it was very hard, good thing I had friends to share with or I could have eaten it all myself!
OMG this looks incredible.
Wow look at all those pins! You always come up with the best recipes, Aimee! And I couldn’t decide whether to pin to my ‘Desserts’ board or my ‘snacks & appetizers’ board…it’s a snack right? 😉
I think you should have it as a snack, then for dessert have it again. Repeat until gone 🙂
Holy WOW!! I’m making this for Super Bowl Sunday for sure! My kids will go nuts for this! Thank you!
Just made this and it came out brown instead of white??? Any suggestions?
the only thing I can think of is maybe the brand of peanut butter? I used Jif creamy PB for my dip. Did it still taste good, I hope?!
same here… mine turned out brown… i have the exact same questions haha how did you add the pb mix and it not turn brown???
I made the chipotle barbacoa and cilantro lime rice tonight for our Super Bowl celebration. It was delicious! I’ll definitely be adding it to my list of favorite recipes.
I also tried to make the regular and peanut butter cookie dough dips. They did not turn out like I was hoping. Not sure where i went wrong, but they both tasted like caramel cream cheese, well and peanut butter cream cheese. The consistency didn’t seem right either. I’m thinking if I ever try to do the dip again I’ll just make my cookie dough and try an egg substitute. I usually eat it anyway.
This was awful tasted too much like cream cheese yuck!
I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy this recipe. I know it’s one of my family’s favorites, but we all have different taste preferences for sure!
Highly disappointed in this recipe! The color of the dip is darker than your pictures and is not very appetizing. Did you photoshop your pictures? I wish food bloggers would restrain from doing this so much… Not a keeper in our house…
Hi Carla, I definitely didn’t lighter the color of the dip. The only difference that might have made your dip darker is the brand of peanut butter used? I used Jif creamy PB in my recipe. We love it here, this dip has appeared several times now in the past two weeks and we can’t seem to get enough of it! I’m sorry it didn’t fit for you!
I agree, it didn’t work out for me either. It came out a lot darker and very soupy. I’m wondering if something in the recipe is either off, or if I should’ve cooled the peanut butter mixture for a lot longer than I did.
Okay, after I looked at the recipe again I realized I used a stick of regular baking spread instead of the unsalted butter, which I’m assuming made a difference… but I ended up throwing in an extra brick of cream cheese, which firmed it up a little and cut the sweetness down 🙂
Yummy and beautiful!! Hope you can link up at my trendy tuesday party!! http://www.sweetlittlegals.com/2013/02/trendy-tuesday-22.html
How rich does this usually turn out? Or sweet? And what do you typically use to dip in it? Looks delicious!
Hi Christie, it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. It is quite a sweet dip, and very rich because it has the Reese’s and peanut butter! We enjoyed it with pretzels the most, but grahams and animal crackers were wonderful too. ENJOY.
This looks unbelievable!!! I am your newest follower! I SOOOOO have to make this for a party! =D
It’s quite addicting, enjoy!!! I’m so glad you are following 🙂
YUUUUUUMMMM!
I don’t know that your comments can get any more offensive to me as a woman. I, for one, watched the whole damn game and enjoyed it. And also managed to eat my face off. Maybe focus less on stereotyped gender norms in your next post.
On the upside, this cookie dip looks amazing.
I’m sorry if I came across as offensive. I truly was only referring to my group of friends and how “we” behave during a superbowl party!
Holy cow I didn’t take your blog as offensive at all. It is light hearted and fun! 🙂 Don’t let haters be grumpy and get you down! You food is beautiful and I look forward to trying it all!!
Thanks 🙂 Nothing gets me down…I’m too pumped up with sugar 🙂
how far in advance can I make this?
I would say a day or two would be just fine!
Is there a good substitute for the cream cheese? never been a fan of it but i’m the biggest fan of Reeses!! Great idea!!
This looks sooo good im glad i saw it on facebook, thanks for the recipe it will most definitely get used.
This looks simply amazing!!! Love it and pinned!!! 🙂
This looks delish!

Hey quick question, would this dip go well with cannolis? I’m having a dinner party sunday and I had this idea to put this dip into a cannoli shell! Thanks in advanced!
It would be a little heavy for a traditional cannoli, but that certainly can work. I think the issue you would have is “piping” it into the shell. This dip is not “pipe-able”. GOOD LUCK.
That looks wonderful! However I was wondering if you had a similar recipe without the peanut butter. I would love to take this to Easter dinner but there’s a severe but allergy in my family 🙁 so while my hubby would die(he’s a huge pb fan) if I made this I don’t want the little kids to grab this without realizing that there is pb in it …
Hi Christiana…I have a toffee chocolate chip here: https://www.shugarysweets.com/2013/02/toffee-chocolate-chip-valentines-day-cheeseball
ENJOY!!!
Wow, this look amazing!!!
I’d like to lick my computer screen : )
,I just made this and it’s not as light in color as the picture. I’m nervous I didn’t make it correct. Help?
You probably cooked the sugar so long that it caramelized in the pan. That’s my guess. Mine came out light like the photo.
I would eat that dip all day long if I could! oh my gosh!!
Any other suggestions as to what to serve alongside this?? Apples? A specific cookie? I’m making this for a snack/dessert for a family dinner tomorrow night!
Here’s my review:
I made this and it is TO DIE FOR!
The commenters who said theirs came out too dark or just tasted like peanut butter and cream cheese must have made it wrong. It would come out too dark if you allowed the sugar to caramelize in the pan, naturally darkening the mixture. It would taste cream cheesey if you didn’t mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar long and well enough. (I hate cream cheese but LOVED this!) Lastly, to those who said it was runny, you must have married the hot and cold mixtures too soon, before the hot mixture cooled to room temp as instructed. Either that or you didn’t sufficiently chill the finished dip in the fridge.
I followed the preparation instructions to a T, with some minor ingredient changes. I used reduced fat creamy peanut butter (Jiffy) and reduced fat cream cheese. I also used a couple extra tablespoons of peanut butter, added at the same time as all the peanut butter is in the recipe. The recipe came out perfect, same color as in the photo. Everyone said it was amazing. One person said it should be illegal.
I should note that i did melt the butter in the pan first, before I added the sugar, to avoid caramelization. I followed on exactly as the recipe requested though. Everything can boil and heat up just fine as instructed. Sugars only caramelize when heated for a long time.
I also found the dip to be too hard straight out of the fridge. Next time I will stop chilling it for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Also, very important, this dip easily serves 8-10 people. I highly recommend cutting the recipe in half if only making for 4 people or so. We were left with wayyy too much leftover for my diet to handle ;). Sending some to work with the hubs.
Thanks so much for posting this recipe!
Thanks Sara!! So glad you enjoyed the recipe!
Oops also wanted to add that next time I will use less chocolate chips. I would’ve much prefered more peanut butter dip and less chocolate chips in the ratio.
Hi Aimee,
I can’t locate the link for the peanut butter cookie dough dip. I apologize if I am missing it but it looks amazing and I cannot wait to try it!
It’s after the ads, just scroll up and look again. It’s not a link. It’s the whole recipe.
I found it! Thank you!
I made this and mine turned out brown, not white. I also noticed that the name has cookie dough in it but no where in the ingredients or recipe is cookie dough. Help?
Hi Ashley,
I’m not sure why yours turned out brown. I think maybe you browned your butter too much? Or could be the brand of peanut butter. As for the cookie dough name…it’s a play on words. I have another recipe for cookie dough dip, without peanut butter. This recipe was based off of that one. you aren’t missing anything…there is no actual cookie dough!
When am I supposed to add in the peanut nutter. It doesn’t say where in the directions?? Or am I just missing it?
Thanks for this recipe! Its the perfect addition to the birthday party I am planning for this weekend.
I can’t wait to eat it! 🙂
Where does the vanilla extract come in? I followed the recipe and just realized that I never put the vanilla in it! It was still good but I kept thinking, “this could be sweeter…”
This dip is really great served with apple slices as well for anyone who is gluten-free. I have made this several times for work now and it is a huge hit!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know!
Good morning, Aimee & Happy National Chocolate Chip Day!! Stopping by to let you know you that I featured your delicious dip on my blog today in celebration of this “sweet” occasion! 🙂 http://www.chattingoverchocolate.com/2013/05/oh-how-pinteresting-national-chocolate.html
… Have a fabulous day! :*)
When I added the peanut butter in it seperated! What did I do wrong? I have a huge thick goopy mess on the bottom and peanut butter and butter liquid on top!
Do you think it would make a noticeable difference if I used salted butter instead of unsalted? It is all I have in my house right now. Thanks. 🙂
It should be okay. Plus, sweet and salty is a nice combo. No, seriously, you should be fine 🙂
What sugar and how much are you whisking in in the beginning? It doesn’t say
Even though you indicated not to several times, I thought I could bypass the cooling stage. Guess what? You can’t! It was still good, but very gloppy. I hated to waste it, so I just added enough flour to the dip until it resembled real peanut butter cookie dough. The end result was a really nice, smooth dough (still just as sweet). I am going to make this again and follow the directions exactly as written so that I can have the light, fluffy dip that you picture, but was relieved that my mistake didn’t make my efforts a total bust. Thank you for posting this!
Forgive my stupidity, but I are unable to for your life of me discover your sites rss feeds. Mind directing me to it? Many thanks.
My attempt at this dip came out truly awful. I don’t usually work with melting sugar on the stove so I had no idea that it could caramelize. I also had to use dark brown sugar instead of light brown so that could have added to my disaster. The sugar wasn’t dissolving into the butter so I just kept stirring for about five minutes and then gave up. I let it cool for a few hours and when I checked on it, it was completely solid, so I had to reheat it in order to mix it and I think I also managed to burn it. It ended up not tasting so good so I’m saving my reese’s and chocolate chips for attempt #2.
I might be blind, but where do I find the recipe for the peanut butter cookie dough dip?
So, mine didn’t come out as light as the picture, but, didn’t matter one bit, tasted wonderful. Thinking of using the dip minus the chips and reeses between two layers of chocolate cake! thanks for the recipe
Glad you enjoyed the recipe. Between cake layers would be amazing!!!!
This looks amazing! Trying it for sure. You know what would be fantastic? Making chocolate chip cookies and using this to make whoopie pies…
THAT is a genius idea.
If you make it ahead of time and put in fridge does it need to set out awhile before your party?
This is off the hook! I shared it on my facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JaseysCrazyDaisy 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
I made this for the Superbowl yesterday. It was awesome!!!!
I made two substitutions:
1. I used neufchatel cheese (1/3 less fat) instead of cream cheese….I’ve subbed this many times and you seriously can’t taste the difference.
2. I subbed blue and orange peanut butter M&Ms for half of the Reese’s minis…..but that didn’t seem to help the Broncos out one bit…..or maybe I just distracted them with this awesome cookie dough dip!
I also used neufchatel cheese and it came out fine. I only had reduced fat peanut butter, so I used that as well. I don’t think it made a difference.
This dip looks amazing!! If I make this, someone might have to pry the bowl and spoon away from me! Love it. Pinned! 🙂
This dip looks amazing!! If I make this, so,done might have to pry the bowl and spoon away from me! Love it. Pinned! 🙂
Replaced the peanut butter Cookie Butter (not TJ’s but Biscoff brand) and the peanut butter cups with Whoppers to make it nut-free. It was a hit! I want to try it with Nutella…still trying to figure out what candy to pair with that…
I just made this and it is DELICIOUS!!!!
It took me 3 tries though, so I have a couple comments.
I’m not very bright and obviously don’t cook a lot, so at the beginning when it says “whisk the sugar into the butter.” This means BROWN SUGAR. The first time I did it, I whisked in the powdered sugar, then I got further along in recipe and realized my mistake.
The second try, I whisked in the brown sugar, and after about 1-1.5 minutes, it seemed nicely blended. After I let it cool, it looked and tasted grainy, so I figured I didn’t let it dissolve long enough over the heat.
The third try, I whisked the brown sugar longer with the butter, about 2-3 minutes. It made it a little darker, but the sugar seemed to dissolve better.
YUM! Thank you for this recipe!!!!

Fun recipe. I made this for a party using dark brown sugar, since I didn’t have any light, and a bit less butter (5T), and a bit less powdered sugar. It came out just like the photo, only a bit darker (due to the dark brown sugar). Other recipes don’t call for melting the brown sugar, which results in a gritty texture – more like cookie dough, but I like the creamy consistency of this recipe. I served it with pretzels and animal crackers, but pretzels were preferred. Both kids and adults ate this stuff up! Next time, I might use the mini peanut butter cups from whole foods – they are a bit smaller than the Reese’s brand and size-wise would pair better with the mini chips. For me, this was a bit too rich (serving with pretzels helps with that), but it sure got gobbled up by the masses. Thanks for such a great recipe!!
It is definitely very rich, glad it was devoured 🙂

I have made this dip before and LOVE it. Always a big hit. Was wondering if I could use salted butter and everything turn out fine? I just bought a huge thing and don’t want to go buy more. Thanks!
Yes I think salted butter would work just fine!
I think it tastes too much like cream cheese I thought with all the sugar and peanut butter it would be hidden. My bf loves peanut butter and tried to taste test it with a spoon and just said it doesn’t taste like somethings wrong it just tastes like cream cheese.

Awesome!! It’s addicting 🙂
Hi I really wanted to make this. It looks amazing but reading through the directions it says to melt the butter and whisk in the sugar, but there wasn’t a measurement for sugar. Just powdered and brown. But both of those are used later just wondering what the sugar amount you used was. Thanks love your recipes
To the butter, you’ll add the brown sugar. Later in the recipe you add the powdered sugar. ENJOY 🙂
I’m kinda bummed my dip didn’t turn out as the same color. :/
Thanks again Reese!
I just came across this on facebook. Unfortunately for me, I have little self-control and will soon be making these to satisfy my appetite. Thanks for sharing this.
I just love this recipe, I’ve made it so many times and my boyfriend just adores it! Thank you!!
OMG! I am over skinny things too! Why not indulge myself and reece peanut butter cup is my daughter’s favourite too. So making the dip this weekend!! thank you.
I’m ALWAYS ready for butter, chocolate and Reese’s, no exceptions! I love this because while I grew up eating cookie dough and still do, I don’t let me kids do it. It’s like once you read something is dangerous, you can’t unread it. It’s too late for me (that’s what I tell myself as I gorge on dough), but I keep them away from it, so this is a great dessert to share the experience still.
Looks really good, would like to try now!!
