Cinnamon Glazed Pizza using dinner rolls!

This is such a hectic time of year, agreed? Trying to get ready for the holidays, whatever that may include for your family.

I have a mental punch list of all the fun things I want to do with my family during this season. Sledding, movies, ice skating, zoo lights, etc. One thing that seems to get forgotten is dinner.

Not that we forget to eat, oh no no no. It’s just that I forget to plan dinner menus. I never know what FUN thing we may be doing next, ha!

So, in an effort to save time, I used some delicious Rhodes Dinner Rolls to make pizza. These are perfect for Friday night movie nights. We made a sloppy joe version with ground turkey and homemade sauce!

Of course I had to make a dessert version too…they were both a big hit.

Sloppy Joe Pizza

For the Sloppy Joe Pizza:

  • 12 dinner rolls
  • 1 can (15oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp steak seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar-jack cheese

For the Cinnamon Pizza:

  • 12 dinner rolls
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp milk

For the Sloppy Joe Pizza:

  1. Thaw dinner rolls according to package directions. I like to grease a baking sheet with olive oil and let them thaw completely.
  2. For the sauce, brown ground turkey and onion in a large skillet until fully cooked. Drain off excess liquid. In a large saucepan, add tomato sauce, sugar, seasoning, cooked turkey and onion. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  3. Flatten dinner rolls until about 4 inches in diameter. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Spoon about 1/4 cup of sloppy joe onto each pizza and sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Eat and enjoy!

For the Cinnamon Pizza:

  1. Thaw dinner rolls according to package directions.
  2. Flatten dinner rolls to about 4 inches in diameter. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush generously with melted butter and sprinkle (generously) with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
  3. While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk. Drizzle on warm cinnamon pizzas and enjoy!
