These juicy Peach Dumplings get their irresistible caramelized crust thanks to a can of Sprite! Using crescent roll dough and fresh peaches, this easy Pioneer Woman recipe is a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 fresh peaches, peeled and pit removed
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 6 ounce can Sprite, 7-Up or Mountain Dew
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350° F.  Butter a 9 x 13 pan and set aside.
    2. Cut peaches into 8 slices each and remove the peel.  Place a peach slice at the largest end of the crescent roll and roll it up.  Place in the prepared dish.  Continue until all the peach slices are rolled.
    3. In a small saucepan, melt butter.  Remove from heat and add the granulated sugar.  Give it a quick stir so that it’s just combined and stir in vanilla.  Pour the sugar mixture over the dumplings.  Pour about ½ of the can (6 oz) of Sprite around the edges of the baking dish.
    4. Bake for 40 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the rolls are completely cooked.
    5. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Recipe from Pioneer Woman
  • The original recipe uses frozen peaches, which is an option if fresh aren’t available.
  • If using canned peaches, be sure to completely drain the juices.
