Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to a small mixing bowl.
  2. Using a whisk, mix until smooth.

Notes

  • Measurements above will yield a consistency of vanilla icing that is perfect for our apple slab pie or cheese danish.
  • For a thinner glaze (to be used on peach hand pies to create a transluscent glaze), we recommend thinning the glaze by 2 teaspoons of milk at a time, until desired consistency.
  • For a thicker glaze (to be used on cinnamon rolls), we recommend adding in ¼ cup of powdered sugar at a time, until desired consistency.
  • Flavor ideas- replace the ½ teaspoon of vanilla with another flavor of extract, or fresh lemon juice. Lemon zest can also be added to the recipe to give more citrus flavor.
  • Heavy whipping cream can be used instead of milk.
