Peach Crisp

Delicious homemade Peach Crisp topped with Vanilla Ice Cream. Fresh sweet peaches with the crumbly topping make this mouthwatering dessert absolutely perfect.

Ingredients

  • 4 large fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or about 8 cups thawed frozen peaches)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • Vanilla Ice cream, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 Tablespoons of flour, ⅓ cup light brown sugar, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, almond extract, nutmeg, vanilla extract and salt. Mix until combined. Fold in fresh peaches, gently. Spread evenly in a shallow 2 quart baking dish. Set aside.
  3. In large bowl (I used the same bowl) combine the remaining flour with ⅔ cup light brown sugar, ½ teaspoon cinnamon and almonds. Mix gently. Add butter cubes and combine with a pastry cutter (or hands) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over peach mixture.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until bubbly. Serve topped with Vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Can be Gluten free if you choose a gluten free flour.
