Chicken or vegetable stockif needed (enough to equal 1 ½ cups of liquid when combined with drippings)
¼cupall-purpose flour
½cupwater
Instructions
Pour the drippings into a measuring cup and add enough vegetable or chicken stock to equal 1 ½ cups.
Pour the liquid into a medium saucepan.
Whisk the flour and water in a small bowl. Slowly add to the saucepan and heat over medium heat until thickened and smooth, about 2 minutes.
Notes
If your drippings are more than 1 1/2 cups, feel free to double the recipe!
If you prefer to skim the fat from the drippings, pour the drippings into a measuring cup. Skim the fat from the top of the drippings and return them to the saucepan before adding the flour and water mixture.
