When it comes to cookies, Snickerdoodles are hands down one of my favorites. Followed by Oatmeal Scotchies, Oatmeal Raisin then Chocolate Chip. I love the sweet cinnamon sugar combination and I’ll try my hardest to “snickerdoodle” everything. Like these Snickerdoodle Cheesecake Bars, Blondies, Truffles, Biscotti, and Muddy Buddies.

Today, I’ve taken my favorite Classic Banana Bread recipe and gave it a good Snickerdoodle twist.

I not only added a little extra cinnamon to the bread, but I coated it in a cinnamon and sugar topping. Much like Amish friendship bread, I greased the bread pans and gave a THICK coating of cinnamon sugar before adding the batter. Once the bread pans were filled with batter, I then poured sprinkled a generous amount of cinnamon sugar to the top before baking. This creates the sweet crust you see in the photos!

Oh my gosh you guys, it’s my new favorite way to eat Banana bread! And I’m not boring banana bread eater, as you can seek out a bunch of version on my website (blueberry, coconut, apple carrot, nutella).

Spread on a layer of whipped butter and grab a cup of coffee and this my friends is my favorite way to start the day. Especially in the summer when I know the chaos of “what are we doing today” will soon ensue!

One of the best parts of today’s recipe is that it makes TWO loaves of bread. AND it freezes well. So you can save one loaf for later, or if you’re like my family, one loaf today, one loaf tomorrow! Ha! ENJOY 🙂

Cinnamony banana bread is definitely up there as one of life’s greatest baking happy places. That top looks so incredible. Can’t wait to try!

  2. I love adding a layer of cinnamon sugar to my pans too before baking any sweet bread!  Love that crunchy crust on the top of that amazing banana bread.  This would not last long enough to freeze a loaf in our house!

I made this for my husband to take to work (he’s a firefighter) and he told me it was THE BEST banana bread recipe I have made yet!! My husband actually hid it so that any of the guys that wanted a piece had to come and ask him. He said otherwise if he left it in the firehouse kitchen it would have been devoured within the hour I dropped it off! Thanks for the great recipe!!! The only thing I changed was that I had to halve the recipe to make just one loaf since I only had 2 bananas. This is my new go-to banana bread recipe! And OMG….it made my house smell heavenly while it was baking. I swear I can still smell that amazing banana bread aroma 😋 Thank you again for the yummy recipe! Loooooove your blog too!! You are one of my favorite bloggers!

  13. I’ve made this recipe a few times now, and it’s always a crowd pleaser! I love the way the smell of baking banana bread fills my house every time. I’ve tried doubling this recipe but have yet to be able to freeze any of it for later use. It is so delicious it doesn’t last long enough!

I love this bread, going to make it for my grandson’s today…have made it before and they love it! Was wondering if you had tried or if you might know if instead of using 2 bread pans, would it work to put all the batter in a bundt or tube pan? How long to bake?
