Ingredients needed to make white trash candy recipe.

White chocolate melting wafers. I use Ghirardelli brand. It’s specifically designed to melt smoothly and set up perfectly soft–and they taste amazing!

Cereal. Froot Loops, Cheerios, and Cocoa Puffs are featured today. But feel free to swap these out for any combination of your favorite fruity and chocolatey varieties.

Pretzels. Sticks or twists will work great here.

Candy. M&M’s (any flavor), Reeses Pieces, chopped Twix, Snickers, Milky Way. So many posibilities!

Substitutions

You can make this easy  microwave treat and change up the flavors.

Add Chex cereal, holiday colored m&m’s, cranberries and pistachios for a Christmas version.

Spoon a big bunch of this white trash dessert into a clear plastic treat bag. Tie it up with ribbon and give it as a hostess gift, teacher gift, or party favor. Bring it to a bake sale, it is always is one of the first treats to sell!

Easy WHITE TRASH CANDY recipe. Toss together sweet and salty snacks with melted white chocolate for a delicious treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey Nut Cheerios
  • ½ cup Cocoa Puffs
  • 1 cup Froot Loops
  • 1 cup M&M's
  • 1 cup broken pretzel sticks
  • 10 oz Ghirardelli White Chocolate Melting Wafers (or vanilla bark)

Instructions

  1. In a very large mixing bowl combine cereal and candy.
  2. I like to use Froot Loops, pretzels, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, and M&M's.
  3. Melt white chocolate according to package directions. I usually opt for Ghirardelli White Chocolate Melting wafers. They taste amazing and melt beautifully.
  4. Pour melted chocolate over the cereal mixture. Gently mix until covered.
  5. Pour onto parchment paper on the counter top. Let harden (about 15 minute). Store in airtight container at room temperature.

  4. Looks delicious! I call my Texas Trash, try Chex Mix original, Trail Mix, M&Ms, pecans. Using the white Almond Bark mix together spread on foil paper. Once cooled and set, I put in small snack bags and give as gifts. Depending on the holiday I always use the M&M chocolate candies. Delish!
