Aimee’s Recipe Notes
Taste & Texture- creamy texture with a rich, nutty peanut butter flavor!
Ease- Only four ingredients.
Peanut Butter- Use your favorite brand. While I love chunky peanut butter fluffernutter sandwiches, I don’t recommend chunky for frosting.
Yield- this recipe makes enough frosting to cover 12 cupcakes or a 13×9 cake. Easily double for more frosting!
Four Ingredient Frosting
When making frosting, choose the best quality ingredients your can find and afford. Scroll down to the recipe card for full measurements.
- Unsalted Butter- Use my tips and tricks on how to soften butter. Real butter will give the best flavor for this frosting.
- Creamy Peanut Butter– Use your favorite brand. Natural peanut butters can be used, just be sure to blend the oil layer COMPLETELY before measuring.
- Powdered Sugar– Adds the perfect sweetness.
- Milk- I use whole milk for frosting, but really any variety can work. Add more or less to get your desired texture.
How to Make Peanut Butter Frosting
The key to creamy frosting is first beating the butter for about 3-4 minutes until pale in color. Then add the sugar, peanut butter, and milk.
Beat an additional 3-4 minutes until super creamy and fluffy.
