One of my favorite dinners. Alyssa (my 12yr old) usually chooses this as her birthday dinner every year. It’s so perfect on a fall evening, very filling and quite delish too! Thank you to Aunt Sandy for sharing this recipe with me many many years ago! I don’t think I have changed it much.
Michael is a little (okay A LOT) anti-creamy. I usually use half the amount of cream cheese called for in this recipe, but for this dinner? I went all the way. And it went all the way to my thighs. You could easily though use less fat cream cheese, if it makes you feel better.
Ingredients
- 4 cup cooked, diced chicken (use a Rotisserie for an even quicker dinner)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 Tbsp butter, softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp minced onion
- 2 package Pillsbury crescent rolls
- 1 jar Heinz chicken gravy, warmed
Instructions
- Mix chicken, cream cheese, butter, spices, milk and onion in bowl.
- Unroll crescents and using two crescent rolls at a time (to form a rectangle) fill with stuffing. Pinch up the corners (makes 8 packets).
- Bake at 375 for about 15-20 minutes. Serve with warmed gravy! Enjoy!

Oh, my goodness! Am I going to try this one! I have been a follower of yours for awhile now. You have such a sweet tooth (and that’s a good thing!)
At least I do my laps at the local Y each morning. What’s one…or two more to burn the calories off?
These are so yummy! They were my go to in college. I used to make these for my “fancy” meal:) Love your site!
Yum, I know my kids would love this recipe. What would we ever do without Rotisserie chicken?
These look so delicious! Almost like little chicken dumplings. And I’d definitely be a fan of a warm, comforting meal (filled with butter and cream cheese) as the nights get cooler.

These sound absolutely divine! Thank you so much for sharing on Hunk of Meat Monday. I am going to make them the next time the dh is gone since he grumbles every time I make chicken.
This is definitely one of my all-time favorite meals. I haven’t ever added the gravy on top, which is a great idea, but I do add 1/2 can of cream of chicken soup to the filling. Can’t beat cream cheese/crescent rolls combo. Love the name too!
Oh heaven help me this recipe looks so delicious! Come over and visit. We have a really terrific ravioli recipe to share.
These look delicious and I love the name.

Oh, I bet this would be my 13-yr-old daughter’s request too. I love this simple but delicious looking dinner! Thanks for sharing.
Since I still haven’t made these because I keep forgetting them, I included them on the 25 quick meal ideas blog post I did today. Can’t wait to try them!
Wow…easy is right! This will be a perfect dish to serves guests, too. Thanks!
Yum! This looks amazing!!!!
Made this for dinner a few weeks ago when visiting my sister and her new baby. Everyone loved it, even my picky boys (7 & 9). I used more chicken than called for in the recipe, which resulted in it being less creamy. The second time I made it closer to the amount of chicken called for in the recipe. It was much nicer the first time, so I will definitely be reducing the amount of cream cheese in future. Will be making this often. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
I had modified the recipe for weight watcher purposes and it was without a doubt absolutely delicious.
i’ve heard of these before but not with the gravy, its a recipe that i call chicken packets. and they are good!! i’m guessing with the gravy would make them awesome!
Yeah, it just puts it over the top
Like a finishing touch…garnish!!!
These sound divine and I’m definitely going to give the recipe a try. But I’d like to have your suggestion on a possible substitution. I don’t care for (if you can believe it) Pillsbury products. I just find that they have a chemical taste. Are there any other type of crescent rolls available that can be used, do you know?
Thanks in advance!
My Kroger has store brand crescent rolls, you could try that. Or make your own!! ENJOY.
aimee @ shugarysweets recently posted..iPad Mini and Erin Condren Folio {for YOU}
Make my own??? Yikes, I don’t think I’m quite that ambitious!!! Unfortunately, no My Kroger store in my area. But perhaps I’ll find another brand at another store. Thanks.
